Middle Caicos is one of the islands that make up the Turks and Caicos archipelago in the Caribbean. It is the largest island in the Turks and Caicos chain and offers visitors a serene and unspoiled natural environment.

 

Here are some key features and attractions of Middle Caicos:

 

Size and Location: Middle Caicos is located in the central part of the Turks and Caicos Islands. It is situated between the islands of North Caicos to the west and East Caicos to the east. With an area of approximately 48 square kilometers (19 square miles), Middle Caicos is known for its vast and untouched landscapes. Natural Beauty: Middle Caicos is often described as the "Nature Island" of the Turks and Caicos due to its pristine beauty and abundant natural wonders. The island is characterized by its rugged limestone cliffs, expansive white sandy beaches, and diverse ecosystems. Visitors can enjoy breathtaking views of the coastline, explore secluded coves, and witness stunning sunsets.

 

Bambarra Beach: Located on the northern coast of Middle Caicos, Bambarra Beach is a beautiful and secluded stretch of white sand that offers tranquility and natural beauty. The beach is known for its shallow, crystal-clear waters and is an ideal spot for swimming, sunbathing, and beach picnics.

 

Mudjin Harbour: Mudjin Harbour is one of Middle Caicos' most iconic and picturesque locations. How to Get Here

To reach Middle Caicos, you'll need to make your way to the Turks and Caicos Islands and then travel from the main island of Providenciales to Middle Caicos. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to get there:

  1. Fly to Providenciales: The Turks and Caicos Islands have an international airport located on Providenciales called Providenciales International Airport (PLS). You can book a flight to Providenciales from various international destinations.

  2. Once you arrive in Providenciales (known as Provo by the locals)  you’ll get a taxi outside of the airport, no need to pre-book. You will arrange with the taxi driver to stop at the IGA where you will pick up your groceries on your way to the ferry. Caribbean. Cruisin https://caribbeancruisin.tc walk on ferry that will take you to North Caicos. You can purchase your tickets online and the last ferry leaves at 4:00 pm. There is no direct transportation options to Middle Caicos. Travel from North Caicos to Middle Caicos.Once you arrive on North you will pick up your rental car. To get to our place you’ll follow the single road that leaves the ferry. There are signs that will guide to go left and continue to follow the road. No worries if you miss them, you’ll end up in Kew and can only go left 😂 You’ll pass through Whitby, Major Hill,  Miss Bs, then the My Dees Mini mall. The mini mall has a liquor store (closed at 5, lunch and Sundays) and a store. Dards is the next, they have a petty good selection of basic groceries. You’ll reach Bottle Creek followed by the causeway that links North and Middle Caicos. When you reach Middle Caicos, Dragon Cay is the first site you’ll see. Make sure you come back to explore this amazing beach, have lunch on the deck at Mudjin Bar and Grill. Take a picture on the deck with the dragon in the background. Then go find the prayer hands and secret beach. After Dragon Cay, Indian Cave is located on the left and offers a self guided tour. Conch bar is down da road, this is where our manager Stacia lives. The Seaview Cafe located in Conch Bar, has great food and delicious rum punch’s. During the months of February and March you may even be lucky and see humpbacks passing by. We are located 10 minutes down the road, on Bambarra Beach, Middle Caicos, where you are often the only one on the beach. Once you are settled, make sure you wander down to the public entrance to Bambarra Beach and have a snack or an alcoholic drink at one of the local take out stands. Travel from North Caicos to Middle Caicos: Once you reach North Caicos, you'll need to travel to Middle Caicos, which is connected by a causeway.

    • Car Rental: Several car rental agencies operate on NORTH, and you can arrange for a rental car to be waiting for you upon your arrival. 

    • Taxi or Shuttle: Taxis are available and pre-arrangement is required. 

  3. Explore Middle Caicos: Once you arrive in Middle Caicos, you can explore the island's natural wonders, beautiful beaches, and unique attractions. Popular sites on Middle Caicos include Mudjin Harbour, Bambarra Beach, Conch Bar Caves, and Wild Cow Run. Having a rental car or arranging transportation in advance will give you the flexibility to move around and explore at your own pace.

It's important to check the flight or ferry schedules, book in advance when possible, and allow for some flexibility in your travel plans, as weather conditions or seasonal changes may affect transportation options.
